They say this is the biggest thing in history That we're here in the centre of it to play our part to shape their world. Forging futures with momentous virtual clicks Virtual machines built by modern slavery Tiny fingered, obedient peon trained to make consumer grade Virtual machines built by modern slavery these bloodstained circuits give you A world, pristine, everything right at your finger tips turn on, login and drop out But their plight's on screen the realities of foreign seas Placated with clickbait petitions and faux charities Virtual machines built by modern slavery Tiny fingered, obedient peon trained to make consumer grade Virtual machines built by modern slavery these bloodstained circuits what do they take away? A future coming where the first world will feel the kiss of poverty And if you think these drones will save you, you'll end up on your knees

That's it, I'm out, into another year of freedom from financial doubt. That is to say I've hidden my cash under a mattress and just walked away. They say that a penny saved is a penny earned and I appreciate all your concern for all the cash and bridges that I've burned but if there's one thin that rings true for me it's that I've learned: You've gotta lace your boots up worker man and don that collar blue because your master has a plan and it's not for you. You'll be a millionaire the day trees sprout money, But not before we're all stripped bare and been brought to our knees, By these bastard suits that seem to feed on currency And spew out nothing more than more bullshit lies sold as plans And a billion idiots just like me. When you're finished working in the din of the engine room, Replacing cogs stripped bare and wheels clogged with rust, Make sure the floor is clean, by the door you'll find a broom, For sweeping up broken dreams and bones that have been ground to dust. I know it's shitty, son, but I'll tell you a lot of the time, Its simply easier to dig deep and tow the line, So as your alarm brings you out of dreams of sleep, And your aching back cracks as you bend to your feet To lace up your boots worker man As you don that collar blue You're realising that their plan was not for you.

I'm chasing the greatest escape, not just a weekend away, Theres not enough living in this life, barely enough to make me stay, As the days drag on and so do I, I can not help but think how many of us are riding shotgun being driven to drink. The news drives me insane, these sitcoms up the wall, There's something wrong with TV when the weather has me enthralled. So I leave the hospital room, I quietly shut the door, So as not to wake the sleeping mice resting beneath the floor. How do we live for solace when the end is so alone, For the love of your sickly friend, man, pick up the fucking phone! Man, I hope it wouldn't end like this, I prayed for something swift, I guess that's the price I pay for living the life of a bridge arsonist. I need to escape this reality, I've gotta leave these 4 walls I'm going on a stroll over the edge of frozen falls To the call of the raven and the flapping wings of geese and the sound of the ice that just gave way beneath my weary feet. With tombstones in my eyes, a cigarette in hand, The cancer enters through my lungs, who knows where it will land But when my eyes are glazed and yellow, dripping with morphine, Just know I'm not dreaming of the life that could have been. With a face worn to leather and nerves as thick as suede Skin marked purple with scars and a memory that didn't fade Unlike my tinitic hearing after the snare in my eardrum frayed My gut remains intact after a lifetime of of jumping on grenades.
